 Dr. Casafrancisco was born in Ontario, but grew up in Richmond, BC. He obtained his Bachelor of Science(Biochemistry) in 1999 at the University of British Columbia (U.B.C.) before he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree also at U.B.C. in 2005. A few highlights from his dental school training were a dental student exchange to Japan, and leading and enjoying promoting oral health at community health fairs that he enjoys doing presently.
Following dental school, Dr. Casafrancisco’s interest in travel and in public health led him to a 2.5 year dual program in Lexington, KY at the University of Kentucky where he received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Public Health in November 2007. Highlights of his tenure here were the “southern hospitality,” the Wildcats college basketball team, a medical mission trip to serve the underserved in Tiquisate, Guatemala, and special friendships gained.
Soon after his specialty training, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (F.R.C.D.C.) in December of 2007, a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry in B.C. (F.C.D.S. (B.C.)) and Member of the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. as a pediatric dentist in January of 2008. In October of 2009, Dr. Casafrancisco endeavoured further and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. It was with great pride that he became a member and co-owner of the Monarch Family in February, 2010.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Casafrancisco is an Assistant Clinical Professor at U.B.C. teaching clinical pediatric dentistry to undergraduate dental students. He has been on medical staff at B.C. Children’s Hospital since 2008. He is a member of the Canadian and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the B.C. Society of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as the Canadian Dental Association. Thank you for making Monarch your child's dental home.
